History of the Worcester Economic Club

Founded in 1903, The Worcester Economic Club remains one of the oldest and largest organizations of its kind in the country. Comprised of professional men and women from the Worcester County area, we are dedicated to providing a forum for the open discussion of economic, civic, educational, and sociological subjects that are of interest to our membership.

Our association is ranked among the elite, compared favorably with the New York Economic Club, the Detroit Economic Club, and the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco.

Our prestigious speaking series showcases our commitment to promoting insightful, relevant discourse. Speaking engagements, facilitated by well-known public officials, economists, educators, journalists, and business leaders, typically occur four times a year. As a member of The Worcester Economic Club, you too can partake in and contribute to a better informed Worcester and become part of the rich Worcester history. Speakers have included well known public officials, economists, educators, journalists, and business leaders.
