Robin ChaseOnline PR News – 13-August-2014 – WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Economic Club (WEC) is proud to announce Robin Chase, the co-founder and former CEO of Zipcar, the largest car-sharing network in the world, as the March 4, 2015 speaker for the 2014-2015 WEC Speaker Series. She will be speaking on the topic of “Sharing: A Simple Approach for Maximizing ROI.” As in past years, the upcoming season will feature many of the world’s foremost thought leaders, including authors, journalists, economists, and business leaders.

Chase co-founded the car-sharing company, Zipcar, in 2000 and turned it into a multi-million dollar “green” company. “As the brains behind the world’s foremost car sharing company, Robin Chase truly captures today’s green-entrepreneurial spirit,” says James J. Paugh, III, President of WorkersComp Analytics LLC and current President of the Worcester Economic Club. “Our prestigious speaker series seeks to promote insightful and relevant discourse and we are pleased to have Robin Chase share her knowledge about sustainable transportation practices and entrepreneurial innovation.”

Chase has received numerous awards in the fields of innovation, design and environment. She was featured on Time’s 100 Most Influential People, Fast Company Fast 50 Innovators, and BusinessWeek Top 10 Designers. She graduated from Wellesley College, the MIT Sloan School of Management and was a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Today, Chase is co-founder and Board member of two transportation companies: BuzzCar, a service based in France that enables car owners to rent their cars to neighbors and friends in a carsharing marketplace, and Veniam ‘Works, a vehicle network communications company that turns cars into mobile WiFi hotspots.

The 535th annual meeting featuring Robin Chase will be held Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
