A professor of practice at American University Washington College of Law, Stephen has spent 27 years teaching constitutional law, the First Amendment, and civil rights litigation. A former Supreme Court reporter for The Wall Street Journal, he is also the co-author of Justice Brennan: Liberal Champion, the definitive biography of Justice William J. Brennan Jr. His deep expertise and firsthand experience covering the Court make him an invaluable voice on the intricacies of our legal system.
